New Arch Linux ISO (Nov 2025) Released
The Arch Linux project released today the November 2025 ISO snapshot for the Arch Linux distribution, along with a new version of their menu-based installer, Archinstall 3.0.12.
Arch Linux 2025.11.01 is here as the first Arch Linux ISO snapshot powered by the latest and greatest Linux 6.17 kernel series, which should give users a boost when detecting hardware, especially on newer devices, but especially on older ones where previous Arch Linux ISOs failed to detect some of the components.
The Arch Linux ISO snapshot for November 2025 ships with the Archinstall 3.0.11 menu-based installer, but Archinstall 3.0.12 has also been released today with support for a new -S flag for arch-chroot and the ability to skip bootloader configuration checks when ‘No Bootloader’ is selected as the bootloader.
Archinstall 3.0.12 also adds the ability to save and load UKI settings, prevents reordering of AMDGPU and Radeon modules in mkinitcpio, relies on btrfs-hook for manually installing Btrfs modules and binary, replaces ‘leafpad’ with ‘l3afpad’ for the LXQt profile, adds Uzbek (uz) language support, and only installs apps when enabled.
These changes in the Archinstall installer, along with various bug fixes and other core changes, should enhance the Arch Linux installation experience for both newcomers and experienced users. Of course, Arch Linux 2025.11.01 also includes all the updated packages released in October 2025 on the official repositories.
You can download Arch Linux 2025.11.01 right now from the official website. Keep in mind, though, that this ISO release is here only for new installations, as existing Arch Linux users can keep their systems up to date by running the sudo pacman -Syu command in their favorite terminal emulator.
To use the latest Archinstall 3.0.12 installer on the Arch Linux 2025.11.01 ISO snapshot, you will have to run the sudo pacman -Sy archinstall command at the terminal prompt. Once Archinstall has been updated, check to see if you have version 3.0.12 by running the archinstall -v command.
Also today, the Arch Linux project released the Pacman 7.1 package manager with various improvements to the downloader sandbox, improvements for (re)importing keys, new --wait-for-lock and --remove options for the repo-add argument, and many makepkg improvements. More details here.
