New Microsoft Is Retiring 'send To Kindle' In Word 2026
Microsoft is retiring a feature that allowed you to send your documents to Kindle straight from Microsoft Word.
In an update to the support document, Microsoft confirmed that it's removing the option to Send Documents to Kindle from Microsoft Word.
This change rolls out after February 2026, but there's no exact date, so it's possible that it'll be a staged rollout.
After the feature is retired, you will no longer be able to access the feature via the Export menu.
"We recommend sending doc and docx files directly from this Send to Kindle site," Microsoft noted.
For those unaware, the Send to Kindle feature allows you to send Microsoft Word documents directly to your Kindle library in just a few minutes.
"A transferred file can appear like a Kindle book with adjustable font sizes or like a printed document with fixed layouts so as to preserve your page-design formatting," Microsoft explained.
When you use Send to Kindle, Word retains the formatting style and page layouts, similar to how it would appear when printed.
Only comments and tracked changes were lost when you used Send to Kindle.
Unfortunately, it'll no longer be possible to use Send to Kindle after February 2026.
